Sarah Thoresen

Career Launch Training Specialist

Sarah joined ReadyCT with the goal of supporting students to set and reach their goals. She also brings her values of collaboration, empathy, and equity. Working on the Student 5.0 team, Sarah is excited about the opportunity to align her goals and values.

After graduating from The College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, Sarah served as an AmeriCorps Member for two years in Columbus, Ohio. As an AmeriCorps member, she worked with fourth and fifth graders in academics, social-emotional learning, and attendance. Sarah then managed the same AmeriCorps program at a Columbus high school, where she collaborated with teachers, administrators, and community partners to plan and lead programming.

Sarah is from Connecticut and is excited to be back. She is taking advantage of the beautiful outdoors and being close to family. Outside of ReadyCT, Sarah enjoys reading, walking her dog, eating ice cream, and trying new workout classes.

“I believe in the abilities and perspectives of young people. At the same time, I recognize that systemic and individual barriers exist, which prevent students from succeeding. With this understanding, I value the opportunity to support young people toward their goals.”
