José Pabón
Communications Specialist
José joined ReadyCT to advance academic excellence and career-connected learning for all public school students in Connecticut. As the communications specialist, he supports the production, design, management, and maintenance of ReadyCT communications and assists with the design and implementation of events, webinars, and workshops.
Before joining ReadyCT, José worked for a property manager where he managed all communications between stakeholders. He also served as a consultant on social media strategy for a church in Fairfield county.
In college, José was the co-founder of a Christian nonprofit organization, where he led the operations, creative, and communication departments, focusing on the New England area. During that time, José and his team also managed, from start to finish, 35+ events with the participation of 100+ students and 80+ volunteers for each event. In addition, José received a full college athletic scholarship as a basketball player. He obtained his A.A. in business administration from ASA College (Brooklyn, NY) and his B.A. in marketing from the University of Bridgeport.
José is originally from Venezuela and taught himself how to speak English within five months of arriving in the U.S. as a high school student. Outside of ReadyCT, José enjoys going to the gym, playing basketball, hiking, and serving at his local church. José lives with his wife, Briyanna, and two sons, Gabriel and Luke, in Durham CT.
