With over eight years of experience in the human services field, Hector brings to ReadyCT his understanding of diverse populations’ needs, focusing on a person-centered approach and evidence-based practices. Before joining the team, he served as a youth workforce program coordinator where he focused on eliminating barriers for youth transitioning from high school to postsecondary opportunities.

Hector is devoted to making a difference in the lives of those often overlooked. Rooted in strategic thinking, compassion, and a commitment to fostering educational equity and excellence, he is looking forward to bringing his skills and experiences to advance the mission of ReadyCT.

Growing up in the Bronx, NY, Hector lived a life enriched with diversity and community engagement, shaping his passion for service and justice. This led him to Connecticut, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice studies from Mitchell College. Hector continued with higher education, earning a master’s degree in human services leadership from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh.

Outside of his professional life, Hector is an avid enthusiast of baseball and basketball. In his free time, he also explores his creative side by customizing sneakers and combining art with fashion. He also finds joy in cooking, a hobby that allows him to experiment with flavors and share meals with friends and family, further nurturing his community-oriented nature.

I do this work because I want to help people from tough backgrounds, like mine, find their path to success.”
