Genell joined ReadyCT driven by a passion for helping youth. She was inspired by the vision for Student 5.0 participants; as a Student 5.0 career launch coordinator, she now is uniquely positioned to support the dreams, vision, and goals of local youth.
In her senior year of high school, Genell remembers feeling lost and unsure of postsecondary life. As a result, she looks forward to supplying today’s graduating seniors with the postsecondary planning support she wishes she had.
Prior to joining ReadyCT, Genell spent seven years working in the childcare sector and working with youth in her local church. Her experience spans ages 3-17, but she has a particular interest in working with teenagers.
Genell has a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Central Connecticut State University. Outside of ReadyCT, she enjoys cooking, trying new foods, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.
“I believe it’s important to give back to the communities around me, and I believe my life experience has given me a great starting point to helping today’s youth plan for their future. This is important to me because there are many students who lack guidance and, as a result, are expected to go into the world blindly. By working with the Student 5.0 team at ReadyCT, I can help to change that.”
