For over 30 years, Duane has been a mentor and an advocate for media literacy and digital equity. Before joining ReadyCT, Duane co-founded and ran an after-school program centered on workforce development for youth interested in pursuing a digital arts and sciences career. 

In addition, some time ago Duane’s emphasis on you-led initiatives and all things tech led him to a career as an athletic coach (varsity level, both collegiate and high school). Currently, he serves as a commissioner for an affiliate of the National Academy of Scholastic Esports Federations and on the Education Committee for the Esports Trade Association. Additionally, at various time points, Duane has taught media production (video, radio, and television. 

Duane’s professional experience, love for tech, and passion for empowering youth have made for a seamless transition to ReadyCT. Duane is also a professional lecturer on career pathways and transitional skills youth learn through scholastic Esports. 

Originally from Brooklyn, NY, Duane came to Connecticut in high school through the A Better Chance Program in Glastonbury, CT. Duane holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Central Connecticut State University.  Duane lives in New Britain with his wife and is a father of three.
