After 17 years as an educator, David joined ReadyCT in 2022, bringing with him a wealth of experience as a teacher, assistant principal, and school principal. As the director of college and career pathways, David draws upon his deep understanding of the Connecticut K-12 landscape as he works to establish and maintain partnerships that help schools implement innovative and meaningful career-connected learning opportunities for students.

Originally from Tacoma, Washington, David was inspired to pursue education by his mother, a 43-year inner-city math teacher, and father, a skilled trades teacher in the state correctional system. From them, he developed the core value of helping others while promoting equity and excellence through public education. 

David holds a B.A. in English literature from the University of Oregon, an M.A. in teaching from City University of Seattle, and a sixth-year degree in educational leadership from the UConn Administrators Preparatory Program. In 2010, David earned the honor of becoming a national board-certified teacher.

David resides in West Hartford with his wife and three children. Outside of work, he enjoys live music, exercise, and travel.
