Darlene Schubert joined the ReadyCT team in 2022. She is originally from the southwest, growing up in New Mexico and previously living in Texas.
Darlene brings to her work over 10 years of experience in advocacy and trauma-informed care practices in underrepresented populations in rural and urban communities. She has spent years working with diverse populations including foster children, youth survivors of sex trafficking, homeless youth, queer youth, individuals with disabilities, incarcerated youth, and individuals with confirmed mental health diagnoses. Darlene’s is passionate about supporting resilience, inner wealth, and a growth mindset — so that every individual can recognize and leverage their strengths!
While receiving her B.A. (communications and Spanish) from the University of New Mexico, Darlene interned as a cultural events ambassador in Albuquerque, NM. She also spent time studying in Nicaragua. Currently, she is a graduate student pursuing an M.A. in educational psychology.
Darlene resides in Hartford with her two dogs. In her free time, she enjoys local exploration and being outside in any capacity. Catch her hammocking or camping in warmer weather!
