Career Launch Coordinator

britney.riley@readyct.org

Prior to joining ReadyCT in 2023, Britney earned a bachelor’s degree (double major: (psychology and language/media/communications) from the University of Rochester. At UR, her experience in mentoring first generation students adjusting to campus life helped to hone her passion for helping others in any way she can. She brought to that work her personal challenges in navigating the academic and professional aspects of her life as a Jamaican immigrant; today, those experiences inspire her to provide mentorship and guidance to students in similar situations.

Her passion for helping others is best encapsulated by Diane McLaren’s quote: “Nature has given us all the pieces required to achieve exceptional wellness and health, but has left it to us to put these pieces together.”

Other experiences – such as organizing storm relief projects, tutoring, or managing basketball teams – have equipped Britney with a unique perspective and skill set that will enable her to make a significant impact on the lives of students served in ReadyCT programming. She is determined to use her talents and knowledge to provide the necessary support and guidance that students need to succeed both academically and professionally.

In her downtime you will find Britney belting out the words to a random song she had stuck in her head or actively looking for new songs to broaden her very eclectic arsenal of music. She also enjoys lazy mornings and a great fictional novel or a periodic television series on a rainy day.

Britney’s ultimate goal is to continue her education by completing a master’s degree in clinical psychology.

One’s vision can be achieved by the sheer force of will.”
